The Alfredian Dramatists
The Alfredian Dramatists is a student theatre group that plays an important role in the Alfred University Theatre Program. Named after an Alfred Theatre troupe of the same name many years ago, the Dramatists serves many functions, including:
- Helping welcome incoming students who want to be involved in the theatre.
- Empowering students to join with the faculty in guiding the theatre program.
- Providing opportunities to be involved in Departmental course and play selection.
- Sponsoring events such as staged readings, master classes and workshops.
- Organizing tours to attend plays off campus.

The University Chorus is open to any student who enjoys singing and performing in a large mixed vocal ensemble. The group has a reputation for creative programming including classical selections, jazz and contemporary music, spirituals, folk songs and Broadway hits. An added highlight is an annual performance of a major work with the Symphony Orchestra.
Chamber Singers is a select group of 25 to 30 singers that performs a wide variety of mostly a cappella music, from classical to folk, global, jazz and popular. The group performs on and off campus,and has toured internationally to Scandinavia, Peru, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy and China..

The AU Symphony Orchestra offers instrumentalists the opportunity to study and perform music ranging from the Baroque Era to the Twentieth Century. Each semester, visiting artists as well as student soloists are featured in performance with the Orchestra. Periodically, the Orchestra joins with the Chorus and Chamber Singers to perform large choral works, such as Orff's "Carmina Burana," Mozart's "Requiem," Handel's "Messiah," Bach’s "Magnificat," and Vivaldi's "Gloria." The Symphonic Band is open to any student who plays a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument, with no audition required. The repertoire ranges from orchestral transcriptions to original works composed for band or wind ensemble. No audition is required. The Jazz Ensemble performs a wide variety of jazz in a standard big band setting. Students are encouraged to develop their skills in ensemble playing and to experiment with improvisation. AU Dancers Union
The AU Dancers Union is a highly active and energetic student organization that provides students with training and performance experience in a wide variety of dance styles. The Dance Team
The Dance Team is another outlet for students to perform. Entirely a student run organization, the Dance Team members choreograph and perform dances presented during half-time at Alfred University Basketball games. Please email Dance Team for more information.
Middle Eastern Dance
