The interdisciplinary minor in Violence Studies,
one of the very few in the United States, offers
you an opportunity to focus critically on one of
the most important and complex issues of social
life. Through varied disciplines and courses, you
will examine the nature of violence at personal
and societal levels, in the past and in the present,
in the United States and abroad, in modern industrial
societies, as well as in preliterate societies.
The minor is especially appropriate for Criminal
Justice, Sociology and Psychology majors. Credit
hours required for the minor: 17.
