| The Gerontology minor at Alfred University offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the aging process and the new challenges society faces as the proportion of the population aged sixty-five or above steadily increases. The Gerontology minor requires students to take courses in the psychological and sociological aspects of aging, and allows them to explore the political and biological issues as well. The minor requires a supervised internship, thus providing real-life experience for the students. Participating faculty members are drawn from the Psychology, Biology, Sociology and Political Science divisions.
