Davis Memorial Carillon
The Davis Memorial Carillon is one of one hundred concert-size carillons in North America. Having a span of four octaves, the carillon consists of 47 bells which are held stationary. The carillonneur plays the instrument from a keyboard of oak batons and pedals which are directly linked by wires to the clappers of the bells.
An hour recital is presented on Saturday at 4 p.m. for ten months of the year (not January and August). When classes are in session, mini-recitals are played from 12:30 to 12:45 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The Wingate Memorial Summer Carillon Recital Series brings artists from around the world to perform Tuesday evenings thru the month of July.
