Nickolette Jones' Senior Project: Pennhurst, the Shame of Pennsylvania (Free Event)

Pennhurst, the Shame of Pennsylvania, written by Nickolette Jones. In the mid-1960s, a young woman, Suzie Tabbot, begins to work as a nurse at Pennhurst, a state school and hospital for children with physical and mental disabilities in Pennsylvania. Soon, she befriends a young resident named Eric, who has lived in Pennhurst for over half his life. Through Eric's eyes and the doctor's and nurses' lack of hope, Suzie realizes the cold, disturbing truth of Pennhurst and the horrors that occur behind the walls.

This will be a concert reading. It will last about an hour and a half.
