The Division of Performing Arts teaches and nurtures passionate individuals in their development as critical thinkers and performing artists in an ever-changing world.
Whether you are pursuing an academic major or minor or are looking for a creative outlet, you have an opportunity to be involved with Performing Arts at Alfred. Participation in productions and performance groups is open to all students, regardless of academic major.
The Division of Performing Arts offers a major in theatre and minors in theatre, dance and music. We encourage you to participate in one or more disciplines, gaining exciting and valuable performance experiences in a wide variety of areas. Beginning this semester, Performing Arts is partnering with the College of Business, iArt Program and the School of Art and Design to offer a minor in Arts Management. It will be housed in the College of Business.
Alfred University has been tapped as one of the top creative colleges in the nation. The second edition of “Creative Colleges: A Guide for Student Actors, Artists, Dancers, Musicians and Writers” has named Alfred University as one of the top 200 programs in the nation for creative students.
