Alfred University offers one year of Classical Latin. While acquiring basic skills in reading, writing and translating Latin, students also have the opportunity to learn about the culture of ancient Rome and its empire. In addition to the Latin courses, Alfred University is also home to The Dead Languages Society, which organizes events such as Roman banquets and readings from Roman comedies and literature. Offered alternate years.
