College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
First Year Experience - Transfer Student Seminar

The Transfer Seminar Program gives every transfer student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences the opportunity to participate in a small seminar led by one of the University's best professors. This one hour per week seminar is offered exclusively to incoming transfers, with a maximum enrollment of 18 students per class section. The personal attention and intimate class environment will allow you to develop valuable and rewarding relationships with the faculty and your peers as well as help make your transition to Alfred University manageable and enjoyable.

Transfer Seminars are unique because they are not limited to traditional subjects such as Spanish, History, Biology, or Mathematics - they are courses which focus on you. Every Transfer Seminar instructor devotes class time to your academic success and your sense of belonging at Alfred University. Each Transfer Seminar includes activities to help you refine those skills that will lead to academic and professional accomplishment, and each seminar works outside the boundaries of the traditional classroom to help you discover the diversity and richness of the Alfred community.

LAS 101 fulfills a graduation requirement, and is taken your first semester at Alfred University.
