Biology Minor - A total of 24 credits is required for the minor in biology:
- Biology 201/202 (8 credits)
- Biology courses selected in consultation with advisor (12 credits)
- Chemistry 103 or 105 (4 credits)
Biological Illustration Minor
Alfred University offers this innovative and challenging interdisciplinary program that brings together the Division of Biology, the Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts (“BAFA”) and the School of Art & Design. This minor enables you to pursue a career in scientific/medical illustration or to become a biology major and still feed your interest in art.
A total of 24 credits is required for the minor in Biological Illustration:
- Biology 201 and 202 (8 credits)
- One elective course in biology (BIOL 103, 322 or 375)
- One drawing course (ART 111, 282, 283, or 284)
- Two studio art courses (ART or FNAR)
Biomedical Materials Minor
Students in the molecular life sciences will find special opportunities in the Biomedical Materials Engineering Science program in the College of Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science. Biomedical Materials Engineering Science (BMES) is an interdisciplinary field that explores how materials interact with biological systems.
